Dealing with Consequences

I've been lucky in my life.  I've been able to slip through life, mostly unscathed by my more dubious choices.  But sometimes, a choice, a decision made - there's just no getting around the consequence.  But here's what I discovered.  The world doesn't end.  People who love you will still love you.  And the consequence becomes a lesson, a call to become more aware, more responsible.  And that is a consequence I can live with.
