Old Habits Die Hard

Four weeks into my weight loss odyssey and I've learned a few things. Changing my ways is harder that I thought. It's hard to find the motivation and desire to work out after a full day of teaching on my feet. I need to stay focused on the short term goals, one day at a time.

I am now at 200 pounds.  According to my Wii Fit, this is the least I've weighed in a year, so I am proud of that. I had hoped to report a lower weight, but not being consistent with my goals and exercising kept me from that achievement. No matter, I am not giving up.

My health is my priority.

I am hoping that making these changes will get easier the more I focus effort on them.  I am a little worried about the final weeks of school and how they will affect my dedication (this past week featured a lot of stress eating, although less than usual). I am definitely looking forward to the summer vacation when I can really have time and energy to put towards my ultimate goal.

I've signed up for a 5k run on June 18th.  It is my aim to run the entire race. Stay tuned.

  1. You're doing great. Every pound lost is a pound toward the goal!!!!

  2. Good for you! I am hoping to really start dedicating myself to fitness. I have a bit of time now that Scarlett does not have swimming after school, so I am hoping that I can fill that void with my own needs.

Hopefully we will both be successful!

  3. Good luck!!! Being aware is the first step. "They" say to keep at something fro 30 days before it becomes habit. A 5k is great first goal, and walking is easier on your body (from someone who can no longer run b/c it hurts my knees too much). You can do it!
