Settling In

It's been almost two weeks since I moved into my new house.  Almost all the rooms are set up. There's just one room with boxes still to go through and that will take a while since they contain old financial papers to be shredded. It's starting to feel like home! I love getting up in the morning and making coffee in my kitchen (with standard height counters! I will never take those for granted again!).  I love sitting in my living room and not needing to turn the lamps on until dusk.  I love my mildew free shower and awesome showerhead.  I love the fact that I can feed my lawn and play with the sprinklers.  I love going outside with Bob, or letting Bob outside and being able to watch him through the sliding glass door.  I love seeing his face outside the sliding glass door when he's ready to come in.  I love that Alice and Bob are finding new places to sleep and relax every day. And I love that it is MY house to continue to improve and play with.

At first it felt like I was housesitting, but it's better - it's a wonderful house that I am proud of, that is MINE!

I feel like a grown-up, having a house of my own.  I will continue to make this house my own - a place I will be proud to have people over to, to entertain in. Home is where the heart is, and my heart is very happy in my new home.
