Ignorance is Bliss

I love to learn.  I love to read. I love to talk. I love to listen.

I love to know the office news and gossip.  I love to know what happens with other people.  I love to be informed about who is doing what and with whom.  I like to go to meetings where I can hear what's happening.  I like to be a part of organizations and groups where I can gather more information about people, places, and things.

But, today, I suddenly realized...ignorance is bliss.

The more I know what other people are doing (or not doing), the more I know what organizations are doing (or doing unethically), the more upset I get.  It's upsetting to realize that all people don't operate from the same moral standing I do.  And it's upsetting to realize people and organizations I used to respect and trust are not worthy of those feelings.

Ignorance is bliss.  But, like Adam and Eve, now that I've tasted the truth, I cannot go back. These truths cannot be unlearned.  I must learn to live with and around these truths.  I will have to find truths of my own - greater truths - that I will live by no matter what I find out.
